​Regional Cohort Gatherings
​We want to get to know one another, so we can purposely pray for each other and share how God is working in our congregations.   


The West Central U.P. Cohort--Biggsville, Galesburg, Kirkwood, Knoxville, Media, Monmouth-Faith, Monmouth-Sugar Tree Grove, and Stronghurst met for the second time on April 26. They have scheduled a combined worship service on Sunday, June 7, at 9:30 am at Kirkwood Westminster PC, where Schales Nagle, the director of Kemmerer Village, will speak. Future social events, service projects, and combined confirmation classes are being discussed.


​A gathering for the Mid-eastern Region is set for Sunday, August 2, at 2:00 pm (at Indian Point PC, Athens).  All members of Athens, Delavan, Greenview, Lincoln, Mason City, Middletown, Petersburg, Tallula, Virginia-First, and Virginia Sangamon Valley are welcome.

Boundary Training Opportunities 

The Presbytery of Great Rivers requires all ministers, candidates, inquirers, honorably retired ministers, employees, and educators who are in any form of active service to participate annually in boundary training.
Online training can be completed through:

• Safe Gatherings, Clergy Ethics course ($29)
• Illinois Dept. of Human Rights, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

Sponsored by the Synod of Lincoln Trails for all 8 presbyteries and provided at no cost.

These workshops satisfy the denominational boundary training requirements in G-3.0106.

​We had a great turnout at the Presbytery of Great Rivers mid-eastern
regional gathering hosted by Central PC in Petersburg on March 8.
Folks from eight churches shared fellowship, exchanged stories about
their ministries, and made plans to connect again soon.
