​Welcome to the Presbytery of Great Rivers
We are a "mid-Council" of the PC(USA), serving 8600+ members (2023) ​from 81 congregations 
​in the central and west-central region of Illinois, and home to the "great" Mississippi and Illinois rivers.  We have every kind of community: urban, suburban, small town, and rural, stretching from as far north as Rock Island and East ​Moline to as far south as Carrolton and Carlinville, from as far west as Warsaw and Quincy to LeRoy and Chenoa in ​the ​east.  Great Rivers is one 
​​of 5 presbyteries in Illinois and one of 8 presbyteries in the Synod of Lincoln Trails.​

​This money supports the ministries of the General Assembly, our Synod, and our Presbytery.  Churches are assessed this apportionment for each active member of their congregation.

2026 IRS Standard Mileage Rates
The IRS announced a mid-year increase to the standard mileage rates effective July 1, 2026.  Learn more here.  

New Rates for Miles Driven July 1 – December 31, 2026

• Business: 76¢ per mile (up from 72.5¢)
• Medical: 23.5¢ per mile (up from 20.5¢)
• Charitable: 14¢ per mile (unchanged)

January 1, 2026 to June 30, 2026 the standard mileage rates for the use of a car, van, pickup, or panel truck will be:

• ​Business: 72.5 cents per mile 
• Medical: 20.5 cents per mile
• Charitable: 14 cents per mile​​ ​
