The Administration Council of the Presbytery of Great Rivers has called a Special Presbytery meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Federated Church, 3601 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria, Illinois. A map to the church is on the reverse side of this memo.
The purpose of the meeting is to address issues with regard to the recommendation from the Mission Responsibility Through Investment Committee of the General Assembly Mission Council that the PCUSA should denounce Caterpillar, Inc., for its profit-making from activities in the Middle East. Enclosed with this call to the meeting you will find an “Impact Statement” that will be presented by the Administration Council for the presbytery’s approval or disapproval. Any other business with regard to the recommendation of MRTI or other entities that address Caterpillar, Inc., would also be in order.
